what do you think of the fanon rule that a team has to have an equal number of males+females for a session to be successful?
I have never heard of this rule. I don't really think it matters.
I guess this may come from the idea that the players are supposed to populate their newly created universe when they beat the game, and it would then make sense to have an even number of pairs of people that can biologically reproduce. However, as we can see in the Karkat's session, the newly created universe can be populated with life completely unrelated to the players' original species.
I understand that Karkat's session isn't typical, though, and that actually beating the game might consist of populating the new universe with your own species. In this case, I don't see why ectobiology couldn't be used to populate the universe.
So you can have whoever you want on your team regardless of their biological sex. Don't let silly fanon rules ruin your good time.
