i looked to see the pic you were referring to and i think it looks normal? it just gives the impression that it's in reddish/pink light and since grey is such a neutral colour it makes sense it'd be one to appear to be affected more by lighting
well i kinda warmed up to these colors and i’m gonna keep the strong warmth!! but i’m removing most of it off karkat’s skin
the thing is when you apply filters you usually remove or tone down the parts of it that would objectively alter something more than what you need or intend to. not only that but my mistake here is that i had already laid down a base color palette that implied a warm atmosphere, so everything including karkat’s skin was already affected by it and there was no need for a strong warmth boost like that >_> but since warm/cold filters are a thing i apply automatically at the end of 90% of what i color, yesterday i just sort of made this new layer to boost up the warmth, didn’t touch anything further and saved without a care in the world because?? brain farting i guess
