A 2-for-1 special, because it's Christmas. To be honest, until I got the A Broadway Christmas disk, I had sorta forgotten that Greenwillow included this haunting, medieval, (and surprisingly liturgical) carol. And I love both Greenwillow AND Frank Loesser group numbers (like this, and of course this). Loesser writes in a mode here rarely heard on Broadway, and I love it. I'm somewhat surprised it hasn't had more of a life amongst high school choirs and whatnot. I can't seem to find a lot of info about Roy Chicas, but he has a lovely light falsetto-y tenor that serves a solo version quite nicely. It's followed by the track from the OBCR.
