@ti0261 asked:
You should write a story or hc were roy has a s/o that is scared of vaccines and needles
I ADORE Head Cannons but I don’t know if I would be any good at them. So I just write you a little story instead.
I named her because I was having a hard time making it reader. I can change the name or try and change it if you hate it.
ALSO... Not that strong with Roy. Most of what I know if from reading on the internet and @batlog. Plus the little from the Young Justice Show. I want to get more into reading the comics but it’s so hard to find good times to read (plus I’m always broke)
India’s felt her body shake as they strapped her onto the medical table. Her eyes studying the room around her as she always did before they started the tests. Count the tiles on the ceiling, watch the green heart monitor flash. Trying to focus on anything, anything but the large needle that the doctor was holding above her.
She matched her breath to the ticking of the clock on the wall. To clicks for every inhale three for every exhale. Keep focusing on her breathing, anything really as long as it wasn’t on the looming despair of what was to come.
“You’re doing good today India,” the doctor said pulling out a needle as the mirror behind him shook slightly. The beeping increased
As the needle came closer she felt the room shake with her. Breathing deeply, trying to regain control as she could feel the medication pulsing through her. She hated it. That feeling of being helpless as they prodded and pried at her. She was nothing but a lab experiment for these people. A test.
But this was the only life she knew.
She slowly felt her eyelids growing heavy as the shaking stopped. The world becoming blurry. Dark and out of focus.
India hated these times when she could fall into a black slumber. No dream, just blackness. She knew it was from the from the liquid they pumped into her veins from these needles. She hated those needles. They made her feel so powerless. So out of control in an already controlled situation. Left with nothing from these sessions but tiny white scars across her body.
However, today she didn’t wake up in her normal groggy state. Today she bolted awake at the sound of a loud ear piercing scream. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the world around her only to be greeted with a pair of green ones close to her’s.
Unable to stay awake, the drugs still coursing through her veins she blacked out again.
India nodded taking note of the streets around her from her perch on an abandoned building. It had been two years since Roy and team had saved her. He liked that India called it his team -much to Ollie’s annoyance- and whatever made Roy happy made India happy. No matter what anyone else said, he had been the one to save her from the endless nightmare she had been living. He had been the first thing she had seen before he had carried her out into this new world she was now living.
He had taken her from the world of white walls and dreamless nights to a world filled with colors and nights filled with so many vibrant dreams. The first time she had a dream it had been about Roy showing her the new apartment Ollie had gotten for her. It looked much like the place she had only the walls were pink and when she kept trying to sit down on the kitchen chair Roy kept pulling it away from her.
When she woke up she had been so mad at him all day. Finally, he had pulled her aside asking what he had done. She had explained telling him how she didn't understand his actions or why her apartment had looked so strange last night.
He had laughed and explained that was what a dream was.
After that, she had experienced so many other dreams. India loved each one and would explain in great details to Roy. Until he explained that no one really cares about dreams. Especially the ones about eating a room filled with Ice cream. Instead, he gave her notebook and told her to just write them down so she never forgot them.
Roy had taken India under his wing after he had helped her escape her prison. She was so funny because of her life of captivity the smallest things were so interesting to her. She was good at things like computers and fighting bad guys but when it came to little things like pizza and how to walk on the sidewalk and not in the middle of traffic she needed help.
Her powers of causing tremors became very useful while on missions like this one where they were uncovering a ring of teenage traffickers. The men would lure young girls, mostly from the age of 14 to 18, under the guise of being internet managers who wanted to help them become famous.
Right now the plan was to catch a few of the big bosses and hopefully get them to lead to big buyers.
India was on watch, her job was to keep them from running down this side of the street and back into the not so loving arms of Roy and Red Hood.
Or that was the plan until one of the guys somehow got away from her.
India chased after him using her powers to cause small shifts in the earth to trip him up. However, realizing he was caught between a wall and superpowered girl he pulled out his gun.
Three bullets, she deflected two but the third hit her very close to her heart.
He escaped as she fell only to be caught a few moments later by Starfire.
As India felt herself slowly passing out she heard Roy’s voice in the distance,
She woke up strapped to a bed loud beeping and yelling around her. A doctor holding a large needle above her.
“We need to sedate her to operate...”
“N… No!” She screamed her head pounding. She couldn't go back to that place. That world of darkness.
The room exploded, glass shattering and equipment falling. Everything was shaking as she had a full on panic attack.
Suddenly she felt Roy’s hand on her’s.
“India! It’s ok I’m here, please, they need to get the bullet out…”
“Don’t make them send me back…”
“They won’t I’m here… just look at me… focus on me…”
India nodded feeling her heart calm counting her breaths.
“I’m here for you, I won’t let anyone hurt you ever again,” Roy said.
