Industrial action by the CWU/Royal Mail postal workers is scheduled for 30 Nov, 1, 9, 11, 14, 15, 23, 24 Dec 2022 This will affect orders from my #etsyshop galleryantiques.etsy.com on and around these days, there may be delays dispatching orders & deliveries by Royal Mail. I have made the decision to close my Etsy shop temporarily as it is highly unlikely that orders would be delivered in time for Christmas due to the last posting dates being brought forward this year, also due to the industrial action. I will probably reopen the shop just before or on Christmas day itself. ▪️ S T R I K E S▪️ As a small business, Royal Mail strikes are totally out of my hands. I will always dispatch on time (often before the dispatch date), but I cannot control what happens to the post when it leaves my hands and is placed in the hands of Royal Mail. Post is taking a lot longer than usual with more strike days ahead and a backlog of parcels needing to be delivered after all the previous other strikes. Can I ask you all to please bear this in mind when ordering and messaging asking where your order is. Yes, it’s a pain. Yes, its extremely frustrating but @royalmailuk are facing a bigger battle to get better pay and better rights. Please be patient, please be kind and above all, have a lovely Christmas🖤 Ps. Please bear with me and other small businesses as all this goes on, please don't leave orders last minute, especially at the start of November by the looks of it! We'll have delays with suppliers etc too so its going to be a bit of a mess, so if you can please shop early and as always shop small! And for what its worth i completely support the staff, what's been asked of them is a nasty joke! .....opinions please though, I'm wondering what supports the staff better, just posting royal mail as normal, or briefly taking my business elsewhere so that it hurts bosses bottom line? We did today's post run to an empty sorting office because of Royal mail strikes. So you might have to wait an extra day or so for your parcels. But I wanted to say I 100% support the Royal mail staff, they are right to stand up for themselves. I know a lot of businesses are swapping to couriers to avoid the strikes, but im not. I think a functioning postal system is super important and I don't want to give my money to couriers that often use self employed drivers on zero hour contracts. We need to get to a world where the people actually performing the labour aren't getting ripped off by those at the top who are only there half the time cause they were born into money. ...
