HM The King Delivers Speech From the Throne
With The King situated on the throne and with the Royal Family sitting in their places in the House of Lords, the King delivered his speech. The King sat on the throne with the Queen sitting on the Consort’s Throne. The Princess of the Isle sat the Isle Throne surrounded by the queen’s and her own ladies in waiting. The King said in his speech,
“ I am happy to be here on this occasion to open another session of parliament. This is the 22nd time I have opened Parliament and I am glad to do it every year. In this parliament session we look forward to improving our relations with other countries through state visits and other diplomatic activities. The entire Royal Family and I will be visiting Victoria in May to take on more official engagements. We will be having the Commonwealth Conference and Commonwealth Games held in Victoria this year. Meanwhile the Prime Minister and I will work hard to preside over the government for the rest of the year.
