the air around her DROPS when she enters the cafe, almost as if winter incarnate has wandered into the building. people knew her wherever she went, and knew to clear a path for her. a menu wasn't necessary, she already knew what she wanted. it was the same thing everytime: a plain black coffee. sometime she'd stay long enough to get two, and perhaps this was one of those days. she had nothing but time during the slow season, and so her grip upon her book tightened as she approached the counter.

a nod at the man behind the counter, " you know the usual. " her money was already out, and she waited for her total despite knowing it like the back of her hand. her face remains neutral as she speaks, just like it always does, her tone a perfect cadence.
