What did she even have to tell in her defense? That she was worried about him, and that was why she ran after him before the established time? That was neither an explanation worthy of being listened by the mafia, nor one that might satisfy him. He probably believed her exaggerated concern to be unfounded. But as his bodyguard, it was her duty to keep him safe. And she had a way of valuing his life way more than her own. And for that exact reason, she stood in front of him with a bullet lodged in her thigh, a wet spot sticking her black trousers to her skin.
Take so much pain, and you might become desentized to it. It wasn't as if she didn't feel anything. Just that was used to it, used to ignore the pain and keep going. "I'm sorry." The words fell from her lips as she bowed. " It was reckless of me." And now she would have to hope her injury wouldn't turn her into a liability and prevent hr from doing her job.

There relationship was-... Complicated to say the least. Abel was unsure to love or to hate his older twin brother. It was a limbo of indifference coupled by the actions the two of them have done. They may have been twins, but they were worlds different from one another.

There was no way they could actually take anyone on with their fists like everyone else. But at the same time, it wasn't as if they could just magically make the harm happen. They still had to get hurt; to bring the pain onto THEMSELVES before their doll could seek retribution.
