Watched The Wild Robot again today and noticed something

While the landscape of the island (and everything including it) was very artistically painted, the human civilization was rather lacking in that department

In the first one you could see every brushstroke on the ground, the trees, Rozz's body, the sky

But the civilization looked rather lackluster (which was intentional I think). The objects there has smoother surface, the humans looked like cgi dolls, the orange trees looked like blender models

And I think it was developed this way to show the difference in their "connection to nature". One was artificial (including the solar light used to grow crops) and the other was at its bare state. And only one of them moved people with the visuals (again, we're only talking about visual storytelling here). The humans have lost their touch with nature, and in return their environment have lost their artistic rough edges. The island on the other hand, revels in it.

I think it's rather interesting to make the human environment lack so much "art", something that we consider to be an innate part of what makes us humans.
