From the Wheat Field

No clouds marred the sky and it’s brilliant blue. A cool wind breezed over countless stalks of golden grain as it traveled with the flow of a nearby road. The cars that rolled around it were sparse yet never stopped. This place was a momentary glance for any who drove by. 

Most of them never saw the boy who sat along the road’s edge. His mint hair and pale skin were a stark contrast to the warmth of colors around him. His tired eyes watched each car as it sped by, taking in the glimpse of humans inside. The few that did see him looked shocked whenever they rolled by. 

Today was different though, as there came a human walking alongside the road instead of in a metal carriage. They wore nicer clothes, and had long, beautiful white hair. It was enough to make the boy stand. He had a weird feeling, like the one that came with those who could see him in the cars.
