Turning the sign to a close a mere hour ago, saying their goodbyes to their employees and then turning around. The shopkeeper sighed heavily to themselves as they did the same thing as they did almost every night and clean the shop. Taking a broom they swept mindlessly, thinking of today’s events and what tomorrow may entail..
Quite the mundane life if anyone asked, but to Duet it was the first time in many decades, centuries even, that they didn’t feel the need to fight for survival.
It was nice.
Another 30 mintunes had passed by without incident as the shopkeeper, effortlessly lifted a bookshelf to dust underneath.
Then the doors Bell sounded.
✨“Seven hells...”
The shopkeeper muttered. They must’ve forgotten to lock the door but surely whoever was there read the closed sign..? Not that any human or inhuman for that matter seemed to read anyways and barged in as they pleased, Ah yes it had happened before and yes it annoyed the shopkeeper nonetheless because each time, that meaunt that whoever it was, was probably up to no good.
Plopping the bookshelf down, it made a loud, thunderous rumble, before the clicks of the tomb keepers heels clicked and stopped,
✨“Hmph, didn’t you read the sign? We’re...”
...Well.
This was a pleasant surprise. In an instant if noticed hard enough, you could see a twinkle in the shopkeepers ancient, blue eyes before it was suddenly void.
They scoff, as they suddenly give a light bap to none other than Ana as the shopkeeper actually pouted, a rarity surprisingly,
✨ “I would certainly appreciate it if you would write me back sometimes”.
Their lips curl immeaditly after into a grin, their scar stretching and following suit,
✨ “You made this poor, old, tombs keeper toil so hard to find that precious tea you know-!” They sarcastically joked, ✨ “If I didn’t know any better I would say you have no respect for your elders, girl”.
✨ “Poor Matthias must suffer greatly from his daughter”.
