Figured Id continue @annalandin postings of #rpgweek and show you all my new Aarakocra Ranger: Aral
BACKSTORY
Aarakocra enjoy peace and solitude. Most of them have little interest in dealing with other peoples and less interest in spending time on the ground and Ariekkklall is no exception, at least when she was still a fledgeling. As she grew she became drawn to exploring more and more of the range of her mountainous home. She learned by heart the winding forested peeks which made her not only an excellent hunter for her tribe but also gave her lots of experience from interacting with and observing nature. At the end of her 10th summer she decided to expand her knowledge as she firmly believes that life, like the seasons, is constantly changing and that one must change with it. She took to longer and longer solo trips to progressively lower areas of the mountains she calls home. This brought her into contact with her first “Earthbounders.” After both parties involved got over their initial shock she learned that the Human hunters, while they could not traverse the higher altitude that she was so accustomed to, were very knowledgeable about the mountains lower slopes and the surrounding hill lands.
She stayed with these human hunters for several seasons, learning from them valuable lessons like: YOU CANT TAKE THINGS FROM SOMEONE ELSE WITHOUT ASKING WHEN AMONG EARTHBOUNDERS; and imparting on them some of her own knowledge of the mountains ways. One of the Earthbounders, a human called Bradford Norris, gave her the nickname of Aral as her given Aarakocra name was a bit difficult for most humans to pronounce.
Moving on from her new Earthbounder friends she sought to learn more of this expansive body of water they had called “The Sea.” As she traveled closer and closer to the “Port City of Lorenthia” she started to hear whispers of war. She knows, because of her hunter friends, that she is currently within the realm of Grima but she is unfamiliar with the concepts for which the Earthbounders claim they are going to battle. She arrives on the coast and is dazzled by her first sight of the seemingly unending expanse of water that must surely be the Sea. She becomes fascinated by the wooden contraptions the Earthbounders have built to travel across the tops of the water and follows several of the craft into port.
