Book Review…Old Sins by Lynne Handy Battered by her archeologist lover’s betrayal, poet Maria Pell flees to an Irish village to study prehistoric people and write her next volume of poetry, but her sanctuary is invaded first by her moody cousin and then by her Togolese lover who unexpectedly show up on her doorstep. When the discovery of a girl’s body on a rocky shore reawakens Maria’s devastating childhood memory of finding a dead baby floating in a stream, her days become haunted by this child’s death. As teenage girls disappear, villagers are terrified that sex-traffickers are targeting their community. With crimes to be solved, both past and present, Maria risks her life to bring the perpetrators to justice. I really like this one! It was not easy to figure out which is always a plus. There are a few suspects and plenty of twists that will have you second guessing. There's a creative cast of characters and the descriptions of the setting are wonderful! I liked that there were no unanswered questions at the end. Everything comes together nicely. It was an entertaining story! Book Review…Of Legends and Roses, book 1 The Crowned Chronicles by Ashley W. Slaughter A realm touched and forgotten by magic. A young queen orphaned by disease. A prince after her heart. Perhaps the Talented should not so easily be forgotten. Of Legends and Roses fantasy romance novel full of mystery and it's an absolutely fantastic story! The writing is fantastic and the characters are all done wonderfully! I honestly can't think of one thing that I didn't like about this book! From the very first chapter I was hooked! I started reading it at 8 in the morning and thirteen and a half hours later I was finished! I can't wait to read the next book! Such an amazing start for a new series!
