Apparate, Susan. That's all you have to do; Apparate. Susan thought as she left the Ministry of Magic. So much had happened in the past 3 days that it felt like her whole body was going to shut down and she would be left as a puddle on the side of the road to be washed down the sewers. The rain was pouring down and Susan could smell the wet grass from the park across the street from the secret entrance to the Ministry. Muggle cars and business men rushed past her, but Susan could barely even focus on anything. Just as she was starting to calm down she felt a push behind her and someone walk past. Michael. Susan was so enraged at the things he had said that she rushed past him and grabbed on to the back of his jacket. He turned and faced her, rage still swimming in his eyes. When he looked down at her, all the thoughts and terrible things she wanted to say to him disappeared and she was left feeling like hollow stump, completely enraged and frustrated at the events that lead them to standing there on the streets. Michael stared at her for a second then turned around again. Susan grabbed his arm and pulled him back once again. "Are you serious, Michael?!" She finally said, the hurt and anger spilling out into her words. Michael's face was cold and emotionless as he stared down at her. "I meant every word I said." He said slowly, with almost no feeling at all. Susan clenched her jaw and could feel the tears welling up in her eyes. She stared at him for another few seconds before letting go of his arm and letting him walk away...forever. Susan watched his silhouette fade away in the misty fog and stood there while the rain poured down on her. She was happy there was rain though, no one could decipher whether or not it was tears or rain streaming down her face. She stood there for another minute or so before walking along the side walks, determined to find a place to apparate back to Hogwarts in peace. She walked for almost half an hour before finding a place where there were no muggles walking about. It was an abandoned alley, but it was perfect for what she needed it for. Susan stepped in a few feet and made sure the sound of cars coming were distant before she focused on the Hogwarts grounds and let herself be taken there. With a sudden jolt and a light pop, Susan opened her eyes to see the beautiful castle. She quickly wiped the tear residue off her face and hiked up her travel bag onto her shoulder. The gates were luckily open so she slipped through and it locked behind her. Susan half ran, half walked up to the castle entrance, feeling the familiarity close enough to touch. Susan walked through the gates and rushed up to her room. No one was there so she unpacked quickly and changed into some more comfortable clothes. She was curious as to whether or not Ron actually took care of Kamber while she was away or left her with Madame Pomfrey. Either way she would have been happy, but she was still curious to know. The thought of Ron brought on even more emotions. He had absolutely no idea about the life changing decisions and choices that were made in the last few days that she cringed at the thought of having to tell him, even having to re-live them in her words. Susan still felt so hollow that she barely even wanted to get out of her bed. She stared up at the ceiling for another couple minutes that turned into almost an hour. She was so determined not to cry any more, especially over something like this, but she could barely resist, and before she knew it, tears were spilling down her face and soaking up in small puddles on the pillow. She held on to a pillow and cried some more, feeling ever piece of her heart breaking and all the happy thoughts and feelings she had only a few weeks ago completely gone.
