The Sam Reich fans are finding that one selfie again, saying we look alike and have the same style, and I'm begging folks to understand that man didn't invent having a beard and wearing glasses + suits.

Gonna be a grump and blame athleisure in part for completely obliterating men's day-to-day fashion to where a sportscoat and vest are conflated for a suit, and all suits in the last 300 years have been compressed into a singular style.

Sorry, guys, I don't watch his stuff. Our styles are about 80-90 years apart. He dresses very corporate entertainer. I dress vintage country gentlemen. The vibes are nowhere near the same, I don't know how else I can tell you.

Today I went to a talk about apple trees, in particular the supposed apple tree that fell on Newton's head. I think I am now less convinced then before I went that there ever was an apple tree that feel on Newton's head. It feels like history is very blurry and wonky and the passing on of information from many years ago is not straight forward. Maybe if you make discoveries even if the paperwork to publish it officially is a bit of a headache maybe at least keep a diary or something bro, especially if you are a really cool famous person. Or maybe everyone should just keep a diary even if you are not cool and famous just in case you accidentally discover something so that we don't have to hear it published by someone who talked to your niece bro.

I have been feeling increasingly gaslit by how many words my spellchecker/autocomplete seems to no longer recognize. Even when I manage to spell the word correctly, it's as if it doesn't exist. All very strange - I've had to check the dictionary again as if it's 1999. But, no, the words are there!

I'm guessing AI nonsense has crept into spellcheck. Need to start a list of the words it believes are figments of my imagination. "Capitulated" was one earlier.

I'm a man with a bad short-term memory + a speech impediment where I often say the wrong word without realizing it, and having to triple check what I write to scan for hallucinations is doing a number on my brain. Text *used* to be where I could achieve communication fluency easily.

Just... entire swathes of vocabulary, no longer recognized! It's infuriating as someone who gets flustered by imprecise language, and now doubly so when his technology implies the words he's depended on are not real!
