Real Scientists Studying Ghosts AU
In the same vein as this post I and some folks on the Danny Phantom Discord have made an AU about a bunch of real scientists coming to Amity Park and being rightly horrified.
They proceed to do real science and study ghosts, but do not realize the ghosts are sapient due to a more animalistic appearance and a language barrier. In this AU they can only speak ghost speak and warped Esperanto due to differing anatomy.
Danny winds up being their most commonly appearing specimen, and receives medical care from them against his will.
Later on he’s caught by his parents, who have changed their ways after doing actual scientific diligence and peer reviewing the new guy’s papers. Upon finding them sound they revise their hypotheses and modified their methods.
Unfortunately this also means they attempt to domesticate Danny upon catching him. It’s arguably better than vivisection, but not by much. They’re not cruel, but a lot of things that are okay for animals are not for people.
He escapes after two weeks, but damage has been done. Then a few weeks later they get him for another two months at least.
It should be noted that Danny boy here is both venomous and acidic here.
