Thoughts on Rayman: The Animated Series

I love it!!! 🥰

I think the show had lots of potential even if it’s not great 🙂

I’m ambivalent towards it 😶

Why didn’t they just use the plot of Rayman 1 or 2? 🤔

I can’t stand it and chose to ignore it as part of Rayman lore 😑

I’ve never seen it, I just pick bits up from the fandom 🤓

Because I’m genuinely curious. In my day so few people had even seen the show, now we have so many cute headcannons and concepts floating around and that makes my heart happy :)

The Shadow of Intent soars through slipspace, coordinates locked in for Sanghelios.

It had been years since Thel had seen it with his own eyes and after the loss of the first Halo, he had lost all hope of seeing his home again. The mark on his chest burns with phantom pain.

Rtas approaches Thel and leaves the helmsman in charge of the bridge with a nod.

"Walk with me, Arbiter." His head is held high but there is something in the way he holds himself. They leave and walk the halls of the ship with a heavy silence between them.

"Did you ever think you'd live to see the end of it?" Rtas turns to look at him, and Thel pauses.

"The end of the war, or the Prophet's lies?"

"Perhaps both." Rtas is quiet.

He's been subdued since the talks with the humans and end of the war. Their work is not yet finished, but the thought of home after everything, the war, the glassings, the Parasite, and the Demon, makes Thel worry.

Was Sanghelios truly safe? And if not, what came next? How could he protect his people in this new galaxy with its scattered armies? The brutes would be back with a vengeance.

So many had died, and many of them were by his hand or under his orders. He had always been a tool of the Covenant, but it had not become clear until his time as the Arbiter.

There was no coming back from what he had done. What they both had done. But he could move forward, for the good of his people, and to reclaim the role of Arbiter for the Sangheili people. No longer were they chained to the will of the Prophets.

OKAY SO I WANT EVERYONE TO BE CLEAR HERE ON THE ARBITER (Thel Vadam). HE WAS THE SUPREME COMMANDER OF THE FLEET OF PARTICULAR JUSTICE, OR THE COVENANT YOU FACED ON ALPHA HALO IN COMBAT EVOLVED THAT HAD FOLLOWED YOU ALL THE WAY TO THRESHOLD FROM REACH.

So basically, he was leading that fleet, and in Halo 2 the Prophets accused him of allowing 1) for the humans to land on the ring and b) for the ring to be destroyed, when in reality what happened was there was a minor prophet in his fleet that was trying to usurp his position and take control of the mission.

To the prophet, the involvement of such an important holy relic such as a sacred forerunner ring had just turned this operation into a religious matter.

So no, Thel was not dumbstruck by the ring, he was trying to manage an entire fleet, do battle and stave off humans on the ring, deal with other problems arising such as the parasite on the surface of the ring threatening to board his ships and overtake his fleet, one of his high-ranking officers (Rtas Vadumee) returning alone from what was supposed to be a by the book check in on an agricultural ship that had seemingly gone dark, mangled after a run in with the Flood left him dismembered and teamless, all the while trying to keep his hands on the reigns so the prophet didn't derail his whole operation.

It's okay though, because the decisions that prophet made led to the Heretic Uprising, and eventually the Great Schism. I just want y'all to realize Thel was a brilliant tactician and a glorious fighter. He wasn't what the prophets made him out to be, made the Covenant believe he was, made him believe he was.

Even Guilty Spark told Sesa Refumee (the Heretic Leader) that the Prophets have always been lying and manipulative.
