RWBY Vol 7 Spoilers!!
Holy fuck that EPISODE WAS AMAZING
NOMAD THEORY
Okay so I've been thinking hard about this.
When nomad jumped in front of the bullet to save skout the bullet hit the center of his chest
Right where the stone was shown to be in ep 10
Now what's interesting is that when nomad gets the makeover into the knight outfit
You cant see any necklace band or the stone.
This is why this is important:
When nomad got shot we heard a shattering sound. Now, we know via Melinda's dad that the stone is what is bringing life to the nomad. If the bullet had completely destroyed the stone and it was still a necklace there is no way the nomad would have still been alive for episode 10.
So, there are two theories:
The first is that the stone is still on a necklace but was partially broken and could shatter completely at any time. This would give the nomad an end point, a point in the near future where hes gonna do something that completely breaks the stone. However there's no recovery from this unless someone can repair the stone.
The other theory is this: Melinda's dad put the stone inside nomad at some point. So when he got shot it did break the stone, however because it's in with his stuffing it didnt fall off and can still keep him alive.
Now I prefer the second theory because:
There has to be a reason el Rey wants the nomad. The obvious reason is because the nomad is a magic user and he wants them all. But theres another possible reason.
Melinda's dad had a powerful stone that could bring life to any object and, as we've seen, surprisingly give it magical powers to also bring life. We know through the flashback of el rey's story that hes been collecting wizards, destroying them, and using their magic to fuel his own power. This, supposedly, is the main reason hes after magic. However, if he found out that Melinda's father had such a powerful stone, especially something that has the power over life, he would want it. And he would go after him. And what's a better hiding place for such a stone than inside of a living being?
And if el rey found out, he would be obsessed with obtaining the nomad, not for his magic, but for the stone that is essentially his heart.
And now that stone is probably damaged or in several pieces and well, if el rey got his hands on it, it could potentially be the end of the nomad
(Unless *gasp* magically a small fragment that broke off when the bullet hit got hidden and el rey missed it)
