No. 

I’m sort of torn about how I feel about the whole thing, in a general sense. I’m glad that some included authors weren’t bothered, but I feel terrible that others were. I think it’s just kind of this discomfort for me because of the dichotomy of reaction? I had the same conflict internally watching it. I laughed but was thinking in the back of my head the whole time that this was going to mean trouble for the community that I care about. 

Personally, if they’d read my fic on the show, I’d be scared to log in to any of my social platforms. It’s not to say people shouldn’t be excited, it’s just that I’ve seen what exposure of our community to the wider fanbase lead to in the past. Enough of it was directed at me that I worry about others and what they might see in their inboxes in the coming days as a result. 

I’m not around all that much these days, but I care about this community and the creators who keep it alive and thriving. I don’t want anyone to feel isolated, attacked, or otherwise uncomfortable in their creative space.

There was an "era" in this fandom. You were a part of that era. It's nostalgic to see you on my timeline again.

I have fond memories of my early days in this fandom. I feel like a different person in a lot of ways from the me when I first started creating and writing, but in so many ways, nothing has changed.

I find myself feeling a little detached from what’s going on around here now, just because I’ve kind of been distant for so long. But from what I can see, this place is still thriving! There seems to be new blood creating content, and new people climbing aboard the ship all the time. It’s also really nice to see some of the same friendly faces that have been there since the start of my own journey in this community. 

I do apologize to anyone that I’ve disappointed with my absence, and I wish I could promise that I won’t disappear for another 8 months without a trace, but I’m a loose cannon these days :P What can I say?

I don’t think it’s anything major, so I don’t want to get your hopes up. Probably just a little one-shot or something like that. Not even sure about the rating at this point ;) It’s mostly an impression… A feeling. That’s how my stories always start. A little seed of an idea that I have to sort of nourish into germinating. I’ve got some things written down and I’m doing what I always do… nitpicking the shit out of it until I work myself into a frenzy of uncertainty and fear that it’s trash and people wont like it. It’s all part of the process. I assure you ;) 

Here’s the vibe at this point:

The river was warm, lazily flowing between the banks, slipping past them toward the rapids downstream. The sun was hot, burning in the sky above them, melting away the few clouds that tried to form.

“It’s like no time has passed…” Link stared up at the sky with his eyes closed, his lips curved in the slightest smile as he swayed from side to side in the thigh deep water of the Cape Fear river’s shallows.

“Mmm,” Rhett hummed in agreement. He was standing out a little deeper, looking back toward the riverbank at Link. “It’s funny though isn’t it?”

“Hmm?” Link asked, his eyes still closed as he basked.

“That this place.” Rhett said, tracing his fingers through the surface of the dark water. “That it can be exactly the same…” He pulled his hand from the water, watching the drops form at the tips of his fingers and fall. The ripples disappeared as soon as they’d formed, erased by the flow of the sparkling river. “When we’re…” he sighed.

Link was looking at him now, the smile still spread across his features. “So different?”

Fic?

Not sure if you’re asking for the fic that I talked about a few weeks ago, or if you are confused about the post I just made. I’m not sure when this came in. 

In any case, I’m writing a fic. It’s not a big deal, just a little something, but it’s going to have a delayed release because yeah...  L I F E
