Alternatively, he sits up and upon seeing what's going on, rotates himself and sits criss cross and watching them with his chin in his palms, gesturing for the audience to stay quiet.
"He might not always have shown it, but I remember when I was young, he would always try and comfort me when I was hurt or upset, and he'd spend time with me. One time he took me on an outing without the Demon King's permission, just to see me smile!" Zeldris was telling a story. "It was almost funny, actually. I'd read about this plant that grew on the far edge of our underworld, and I wanted to see it SO badly. So he took me, even though I didn't say anything. He always just KNEW. He was spectacular and incredible like that, even when he was colder."
Estarossa Nods, putting a hand on his shoulder with a solemn express. "We were thrilled when we found him in Brittania, and even if there were rough patches, he'd gotten so much kinder and gentler. It felt like it was too good to last..."
Zeldris squeezes his arms, and half turns to cast a remorseful glance over his shoulder and he freezes, going pale. Meliodas is leaning on both his hands still, watching him with an almost curious, passive face. Zeldris gapes and tugs Estarossa's sleeve, a little frantically and pointing. "Rossa, Rossa I need you to tell me if I've started hallucinating or not."
That gets the attention of the others and-
"Yknow, I was wondering how long it would take you all to notice me. I've been awake for like. Twenty minutes."
I love Zel's nickname for Estarossa. Rossa. Such a cute nickname. But I'm getting off track.
Boy that must have been a shock to Zel and the others, sharing their most precious memories of the eldest prince, and just turning around to see him actually ALIVE, and just sitting there like: "Yo!"
Even when Meliodas was supposedly a cold, ruthless killer of the Demon Clan, he still had a soft spot for the young kits of the clan, especially Zeldris. He was his flesh and blood.
