I was picking out some clothes in the mart of Wal today, and I got some strange looks. I pretty much exclusively buy long cargo shorts and tanks, so of course I was in the men's section. I definitely don't "pass" yet, so most people assume I'm just a butch lesbian.
I might be going to the RU12? group in my state this Friday. I'm going to try my damnedest to "pass," mostly because I don't know anyone in that particular town, and because it's the most queer-friendly city in my state. I feel like it'd be very safe to try it out there.
For a binder I wear very tight sports bras, and therefore I'll have to wear a darker and thicker shirt (or multiple ones). From the waist down (clothed), I pretty much have that covered.

October 4th Trans Town Hall:
Body Shame, Body Pride with Eli Clare
Shame around our bodies and identities is an all too familiar experience for many trans people. In this Town Hall, Eli Clare will reflect on the ways we may experience body shame, resisting that shame, and coming to a place of pride with our bodies. We will explore the ways we name our bodies and experiences, come out or disclose, and live in our ordinary, familiar bodies. Attendees (who wish to do so) will have an opportunity to consider their feelings around their bodies, share their experiences and thoughts, and connect with others.
Future Trans Town Halls
November: Healthy Relationships
December: Know Your Legal Rights
January: Healthcare 101
February: TBD, based on community input
March: Preparing For LGBTQ Leadership Day
*Check out the Trans Town Hall at the Translating Identity Conference this year on October 13th. Voice what you feel are the needs of trans Vermonters and what you'd like to see happen in our community!*
What is clear to me after these past three months of accelerated change is this: Curation is now part of the content equation. It doesn’t kill anything, rather it adds a powerful new tool that will make content destinations more relevant, more robust, and more likely to attract and retain visitors. Curation is here to say, though creators should have the ability to create boundaries, both editorial and economic, around what they create and how it is repurposed.
Why Content Curation Is Here to Stay
It surprised me that being a startup founder does not get you more admiration from women. I did know about that, but I'd forgotten.
What Startups Are Really Like
