Hey remember that ruana I finished in 2020? I finally got around to washing and photographing it nicely!

It’s huge! I miscalculated. That’s ok. Next one will be the right size.

I finally finished my first ruana! It’s actually too big for me, which I realised too late, and so made it shorter--it’s very wide and not as long (see second pic). The third pic is the guide I used to make this--I ended up deviating from it a bit!

I finished the edges with a local alpaca yarn (light brown) held together with the Centolavaggi. Next ruana, I’d make this edging much wider on the “arms”.

Overall this stitch has a wonderful drape. I’m making a shawl with this stitch to use up the leftover Durasport and Centolavaggi.

Have you ever completed a project and were so eager to share the excitement with others that you took some quick selfies in your toothpaste-spattered bathroom mirror and then also realised you had a trailing yarn end hanging out? That was me when I finally finished this giant ruana! I began this project in March 2020, and finished it in October 2020, but it somehow feels much longer...
