@lau219 here it is, babes. I have regrets, but not enough to not post 😂
Inspired by this post by @lau219 and this song :
It was a beautiful summer day. Not too hot with a nice cool breeze blowing, and it was perfectly sunny outside. The kind of weather that made you want to drive through town with the windows down and the radio playing. Which is exactly what Emmett was currently doing. He’d just returned from driving his sons up to his parents' home for the weekend. They’d chatted endlessly about going hiking, seeing the neighboring horses, and swimming at the lake near the property. He’s honestly not sure how he’s going to manage dragging them back home on Sunday.
It’d be worth it though. As much as Emmett loves his two boys, he had to admit that it was going to be great having some personal time.
Pulling up to a red light, he glances around at the sidewalk, the businesses, and the people occupying them. The ice cream parlor on the corner had opened two months prior when the weather warmed, and it was currently hosting what appeared to be half a classrooms worth of kids. Across from them sat Marco’s Sub Shop. Which was an odd name considering that they served just about every Italian dish he could think of. It was a family-owned business that had been there for nearly forty years. He actually planned on dining there this evening, likely getting the lasagna. The dish basically being his usual.
Emmett’s eyes continued dragging lazily across his scenery before something else caught his eye. Or rather someone.
Walking catty-corner from him down the sidewalk, had to be the prettiest woman he’d ever seen. She wore a sundress and sandals, hair styled to be out of her face, and a bright smile painted on her lips as she conversed with another woman walking with her. Fuck.
He desperately wanted to go talk to her or to at least have her walk his way. He wanted to hold her in his hands, knowing she’d be so soft. He’d wrap his arms around her, squeeze her hips, and suck at the sensitive spots on her neck. She’d make the prettiest noises for him. He’d bunch that sundress around her hips before groping and kissing her thighs. She’d blush so pretty for him. He’d be sure to find her so wet and wanting, and he’d-
HONK! HONK!
Emmett is rudely brought back to reality by the sound of the car horn, his former red light now currently a bright green. Quickly waving a ‘sorry’ to the disgruntled older man behind him, he takes off down the road. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees the pretty woman in the sundress looking over at him.
Feeling thoroughly embarrassed, Emmett manages to drive a block away before his cell phone rings. Glancing over, he outwardly groans when he sees who’s calling. Deciding to bite the bullet and get the humiliation over with, he picks it up.
“Hey, baby. How are you doing?”, he asks, trying to keep his tone light and nonchalant.
That evidentially doesn’t work as he’s met with giggles on the other end.
“Em, what were you doing?”, his girlfriend attempts to ask through her laughter. He was now able to make out her friend’s laughter as well through the speaker.
“M’not sure what you mean, sweetheart”.
“Really? So, you weren’t the one holding up traffic a minute ago? Because it looked an awful lot like you. Unless it was some other man in your exact truck who was rubbernecking at me”, she accuses, a smile evident in her tone.
Silence.
“Em?”
“In my defense, you’re just too damn pretty. How’s a man supposed to go about his day in peace when his beautiful girlfriend is walking about - looking the way that you do?!”, he exasperates, fully grinning now.
“You’re incorrigible!”, Y/N laughs, clearly amused by the entire situation. “I have to go, but I'll see you later. Marco’s at 6, right?”, she confirms.
“Yes, baby. I’ll pick you up at 5. I love you”, he confirms, sure that he’s smiling like an idiot in love.
“Love you too, Em. Bye”. With that the call ends.
Emmett can’t help smiling to himself. This was going to be a great weekend.
