Game 43: Retro Quiz Tower Feb2026 Retro Quiz Tower is only going to appeal to so many people to begin with, and with the way this game sets up it's controls to move around, well it just isn't pleasant. I don't want to knock this game too much from it's initial charm and interesting premise but it really only goes so far as quiz games can go. Not only is the Game Boy limited in what it can do, but largely you can just brute force a lot of these questions due to them consistently being in the same spot or looking them up on the internet if you are quick enough. Did I enjoy my time with this game? Yes, but I have a lot more gaming know how than most, and I don't let little spelling errors get to me compared to the average bear, er…gamer. The main problem really is I just don't feel compelled to really play this again or recommend it to anyone. The right audience will find it.

Windows 3.1 auf einem Game Boy Color Wir wissen ja alle, dass der Klassiker Doom mittlerweile auf allem laufen kann, was man sich nur vorstellt. Ich weiß gar nicht mehr, was das absurdeste Gerät ist, auf dem der Bums läuft, aber Zahnbürsten sind da definitiv mit dabei und im Kern kann man sagen: alles, was irgendwie ein Display hat, kann auch Doom beheimateten. Erklärt dann auch, warum es dazu keine einzelnen Beiträge gab – das Thema ist durch und irgendwie alles kein Highlight mehr. Aber wenn dann Windows ins Spiel kommt – und weil es Windows ist, ist auch die Version egal – wird’s noch mal spannend, besonders wenn ein Device herhalten muss, mit dem die Verbindung so gar nicht sinnvoll erscheint. Ein Game Boy Color zum Beispiel. Ich hatte ja in meiner Kindheit nie ein Game Boy ... ach lassen wir das, auch das Thema ist mehr als durch. Jedenfalls hat RubenRetro einen Emulator gebastelt, der Windows 3.1 auf eben diesem Game Boy Color laufen lassen kann. Inklusive Musik, Paint und mit passendem Zusatzgerät sind auch Ausdrucke möglich. Genauso wenig fehlt Minesweeper, DEM Windows-Spiel überhaupt, gerade in so mancher Behörde und damit das ganze Paket komplett ist, darf natürlich auch der obligatorische Bluescreen nicht fehlen. Vor allem zeigt es aber, warum Maus und Tastatur sinnvoll sind bzw. warum das iPhone vor allem durch seinen Touchscreen so ein Erfolg geworden ist.
