Squinting at one of the golden butterflies that flitted around the area, Cortex couldn’t help but let our a huff. He had intended to make a good impression on the hosts here, but being the evil mastermind he was, he couldn’t help his desire to sneak around and stick his nose where it didn’t belong. He was caught between two choices. Snoop around the Ushiromiya’s bedroom for more info or anything about these two or the Escape room. A couple with this much money, notoriety and magic capability MUST have something good in store. But with these golden little insects swarming the entirety of the party, it was hard for him to do any kind of snooping. Gently holding out a hand, he allows one of them to rest on his hand briefly. “And you’re what’s helping them keep an eye on everyone and everything, are you?”
He’s skeptical. A Man of science after all. Sure, he’s seen the workings of magic in action... He had a magic floating mask bossing him around back home! He even enlisted a few other masks to help assist his former ‘Ultimate Weapon’ against Crash. But, he never really cared much for the idea of magic... Unless it involved granting him power in some way. “I’ll admit, this sort of surveillance system is unique, especially if it links to ones conscious mind...” And he’d have to take notes for his own future plans down the road. But so much for his evil plans tonight. Shooing away the golden papillon, Cortex rolls his eyes. “I’m not one for staying so well behaved for so long...” Once he breathes this, more butterflies seem to amass near him. “Ahh- That is to say- In a legitimate, not sneaky way, that I like a little bit of chaos!” A sad attempt to dissuade the butterflies from inspecting him any further. Even if he’s not showing any signs of acting violently right now, he didn’t want to be stuck in that fragment for some stupid reason like this. Putting on a cheesy smile, he chuckles awkwardly before taking note of someone ascending up the stairs. A Perfect distraction! He doesn’t even get a look at who it is before hurrying towards them in a desperate attempt to avoid suspicion.
“Hey, you!” Oh, wow, they were certainly very red! And a Cowpoke too. “Ahh... You’re here for the escape room too, Right? Need a buddy~?” There’s no avoiding the butterflies around this place, but maybe if he played along for a bit and ‘mingled’, it would take the heat off him.
