Cooke Land, Day 86, Part 2
Sully: So, what's the plan for today?
Reuben: I thought I might go to the gym-
Sully: Is that on your training programme from your coach or just because you want to?
Reuben: ...
Sully: I thought as much! No gym for you today - do your homework then get out there and be a kid!
So down to the Youth Club it is, where he meets and almost makes friends with Ivo Gutenberg.
Sully got a call from his niece Erin this afternoon, then another from his dad.
It's not a job, so not a promotion - perhaps he's been moved up to the next squad? Or just got to play in a competitive match? I don't know how these things work!
Cooke Land, Day 86, Part 1
Lachlan: Hey, you can't noogie someone older than you! That's against the rules!
Reuben: You're four months older than you. We're in the same year at school. It's allowed. And your hair is so noogyable!
Reuben doesn't have practice tonight, so he figures he ought to do some stretches and keep himself loose.
He wanted a cooking point so made dinner for everyone.
Lachlan: Yeah, we played catch. Reuben about took my hand off with the ball.
Reuben: That's a bit of an exagguration. Just wait til we play footie after dinner!
Reuben: Goooooaaaaaal!
Cooke Land, Day 85, Part 5
Ruby: Upstairs?
Sully: I wish. That's my carpool. Raincheck?
Ruby: I suppose.
Ruby wanted to buy a bar and have a drink, so she did. They have quite a bit of money, and Sully brings home over $3.5k everyday.
I don't know why that would've made him lose Sports enthusiasm, but I'm sure he'll be able to get it back.
Ruby had time to make a bit of music before work.
Time for a post-school nap.
Reuben: Come on, butterfingers, that wasn't even a hard throw!
Lachlan: Keep your hair on! I'm much more used to handling chess pieces!
Aww, Sully brought flowers home from work for Ruby.
Reuben doesn't have football training on Fridays, so he had a post-school nap and then invited his cousin, Lachlan, over for a game of catch.
Cooke Land, Day 85, Part 4
Ruby: Sully? Are you awake? Wanna bang?
Sully: I think we should go straight back to bed?
Woohoo!
Meanwhile, Reuben's unclogging his toilet. If he's going to be a big time football player sometime (and they're starting to believe it's possible) his parents are determined to keep him as grounded as possible. Therefore cleaning and repairs in his own bathroom are all his own job.
They left to go out for breakfast about the time Reuben left for work.
Sully: ... and all I said was "good game". What's wrong with that?
Ruby: Some teenager thing, I expect. I'll ask Jude.
Ruby: Wanna do it in the car before we go home?
Ruby woke early with a date want. Her husband was very amenable. Also, the wants for his sister-in-law have all disappeared.
