From the erebidae family. They have a wingspan of 35-45 mm. They inhabit most open habitats, including downland, heathland, moorland, woodland clearings, sand-dunes, gardens and water meadows. They can be found in most of Europe, North Africa, Russia, Central Asia, Tibet and certain areas of North America.
