This Yang & Ruby hug is completely different from all their previous hugs - from all the other hugs Yang’s given anybody, honestly. Usually she gathers you in her big beefy arms and tenderly holds the back of your head (or, if you’re Blake, she cups your cheeks). I’m sure she finds a great deal of comfort in these hugs,  but clearly her main priority is to give comfort, to provide reassurance and physical affection and safety to the people she loves.

But in this scene, she’s looking for comfort for herself first. She puts her head on Ruby’s shoulder, before anything else happens, before she throws her arms around her sister and holds her tight - she lays her head on Ruby’s shoulder and clings onto her like a lifeline! Because this is about Summer, and they’re both equally hurt, and traumatized, and reeling from recent realizations - they’re just two kids who lost their Mom.

Ruby’s never hidden that she needs Yang’s love and support, but Yang, for the first time, is saying “I need you too”.

I really love it toooooo!!!!

I've been trying to narrow down exactly what I would want to do for that fic, but it's a but hard

Part of it is because I know that it's would work better as a longer fic rather than a one-shot like most of the stuff that I've written (that isn't Back Home From Afar) and I'm not sure how long it would be

Another part of it is something I've mentioned before, which is writing Summer

I don't know how I'm going to make her her own distinct character

After I finish this Time-Stop Enabler fic that I'm working on, then I think I'll try to work on this idea some more because I really do want to write it

There's so much fun stuff I can do with it

I was too tired to answer last night, but I was thinking about it before I went to sleep

I think that there's something fun that could be done with Ruby somehow becoming Summer's partner and then maybe Raven and Qrow would be teamed up

And there's the question of when Ruby would be sent back in time because thinking about it now, I think it would be fun to have a post Volume 9 Ruby to be sent back via the Blacksmith's portal

I'm not sure, there's a lot of stuff to consider
