Adelynn sighed, already imagining how the case before her would play out. As always, the body was burned beyond recognition and Detective Hastings would once again have to announce that there were no clues left behind as to the cause of the victim’s death. They both knew the real reason, however.
She stood behind the yellow tape, deciding it was best to stay out of the way as the officers did their jobs. It was far too early in the case for her to get involved but her sense of smell has been more powerful lately and she couldn’t miss the scent of burning flesh even if she tried. “Quel dommage...” Adelynn whispered, more to herself than anything.
