Write a piece in which a character’s day is interrupted rudely.
Rude interruption // Bridget & Joe [&Tim]
Bridget had, had enough for one day. She had only been in Lincolnshire for a few hours and already she had cried more than she had in four years. The thought made her shudder. Finally finding a decent-looking pub, Bridget walked in and she plonked herself down on the nearest bar stool next to the bar. “Vodka an’ coke.” Bridget ordered, and she dug her purse out of her bag. She quickly glanced down at her mobile, and rolled her eyes, seeing that her sister had rang her another three times. “Gee over-protective much?” She murmured to herself. Sighing, Bridget threw her mobile back into her bag and she paid the barman for her drink. After putting her change away and flinging her purse back into her bag, Bridget gulped have the drink back. Slamming down the glass, a loud breath left her lips.
She began pondering about her life. It was a road she usually refused to go down, but after seeing Tim letting out his emotions like that earlier, it really opened Bridget’s eyes. So she had no career goals. So she was, what her sister would call, a failure. But Bridget was pretty content with her life and how it had been led so far. So what did it matter to others? Being here in Lincolnshire was like a breath of fresh air. Finally. She thought. Peace and quiet.
She hadn’t even realise she had company, until she glanced to her right and a smirk appeared on her face, “Oh hello.” She spoke. “Now what’s a cute thing like you doin’ alone?” She asked. Time to test the boundaries. She thought to herself. “Waitin’ for the girlfriend? A date?” Bridget raised her eyebrows in question.
