My best friend of four years now started working at the same salon a year ago, everything was going very well, and everyone got along.Recently we got a new manager who made big changes and was very rude. Then she convinced my best that one of our friends at the salon stole clients off of my books and got her in a lot of trouble. She has never wronged me and I have no proof she took from me, but my best friend is convinced and I’m losing her by doing what I feel is morally correct. Please help :(
This is difficult to understand. If I’m correct, your new manager convinced your best friend that one of your other friends stole your clients, and you don’t believe it but your best friend does?
All you can do is continue to be honest and genuine. If you don’t believe that your friend stole your clients, then behave as though you don’t. You can talk to your best friend, and let her know “hey, I feel like I’m losing you because I don’t believe that (friend) stole my clients, which is confusing and hurtful to me”. It’s possible that she has evidence that you haven’t heard about yet, and it’s worth asking her if she has any more information to give you, so you can continue to make informed choices. But if your best friend refuses to be friends with you because of this situation... that sucks, and you couldn’t have done anything to prevent it. Ultimately, that’s her choice.
