Discover a street in Paris virtually unchanged since the early 20th century! 🎨 In 1910, Maurice Utrillo painted this scene of Rue des Abbesses in the Montmartre section of Paris. 📷 In the 1950s, art critics noted that the street looked exactly the same except for a Coca-Cola sign that was painted in the blank grey space above the multi-colored building at the center of the painting. 📸 In 2013, (scroll to see!) the street STILL looks exactly the same! 🌎 In a world that is constantly changing it is quite enchanting to know that some things remain beautifully untouched by time. It’s not often you can walk in the exact footsteps of an artist who lived 100 years ago and still see today the very same subjects and sites that he saw from the very same vantage point. 🥂 Cheers to Paris for keeping streets like this perfectly intact and wonderfully the same! 🥂 . . . . . #paris #montmartre #ruedesabbesses #mauriceutrillo #parisneighborhoods #parisart #looksthesame #parislove https://www.instagram.com/p/CU2XwVmgkcb/?utm_medium=tumblr
