Just a little reminder before we get into October
and some Project Hail Mary because I still can't stop thinking about it
Having queer stories is so important but it's JUST as important to have queer MCs in non-queer stories. Knives Out's Benoit Blanc is my favorite example of this but I also love Alex Easton from the Sworn Soldier books. With both these characters their queerness is an important aspect of their characters (the way they grew up did in fact affect the person they turned out to be, queer labels weren't just slapped on them as an afterthought) BUT their queerness DOES NOT matter to the plot. Benoit Blanc has MURDERS TO SOLVE and Alex Easton has MONSTERS TO SURVIVE, this isn't the time or place to talk about love lives or gender expression, so the story does not address those things. Because that's not what it's about. But it's still there
The Artemis astronauts are now farther from Earth than any humans have ever been and they’re so excited and found two new craters they want to name Integrity, for their spacecraft, and Carroll, for the commander’s late wife. They all hugged each other with tears in their eyes because this is so important and no matter how far they get from home they are not alone. I am weeping gently over spacemen yet again
Okay yeah I am just going through a list of Ryan Gosling movies. It's his fault for always shaking crying covered in blood
A NASA scientist said ‘AMAZE AMAZE AMAZE’ in response to the Artemis crew talking about a good view of the moon, space people fucking love Project Hail Mary!!!
This is my petition to include Monty McTreats in the goslingverse
like look at this guy. my favorite combination of silly and vaguely off-putting
