For concert number two of this season of elastic hour, we bring you The Matthew Yeakley Group - an original jazz project where simple melodies, complex rhythms, and bold improvisation meet. Though at the core this is a jazz group, their influences are a sundry, drawing largely on modern popular music to inform their jazz sensibilities. Their mission: an honest expression of life through music, which can be felt by the high energy of every performance.
The Matthew Yeakley Group consists of Matt Yeakley on guitar, Matt Politano on keys, Rufus Philpot on bass, Abe Lagrimas Jr. on drums, with special guest Nick Mancini on vibes.
Hosted by Nick Mancini himself, the concert series, elastic hour, has been touted as one of LA’s most diverse and prestigious live music series. This 5th season will last for 10 weeks, September 5th to November 7th.
Curve Line Space is an intimate art gallery located at 1577 Colorado Blvd, Eagle Rock CA. There is a $10 suggested donation with refreshments provided. Unmetered street parking only.
