what do you guys think happened to rufus ?
one of Jack's lines mentions that he misses Rufus, implying that he might have ran away, or died, but he didn't really seem that old
he's a yellow Labrador retriever (according to Google) and they can last 12 to 14 years, Rufus didn't really look like a puppy in 1907 when Jack got him, so let's say he was like two or something, Rufus would only be 9 years old in 1914
could Ross's men maybe killed him during the attack ? did he die while out hunting with Jack ? did he run away ? did he get a disease ? I'm so curious
something really interesting that a lot of people point out is that you can still hear dog noises around beechers hope in the epilogue
