Stone Ruination 2.0 Sans Filtre Double IPA (Picked up at Bev-Mo). A 4 of 4. The unfiltered version is just as good as the previous 2.0 version, and honestly not that different. Slightly more heft in the body, but same aggressive hop profile with a mix of citrus/pine and some lighter tropical notes up front. Aggressively bitter, like you’d expect, and finishes dry and slightly warm.

Somewhat New

Stone recently rejiggered their line up. Stone’s Pale Ale and Ruination were reformulated to take advantage of new hop breeds and, in the process, modernize their flavors. Ruination 2.0 is brewed with Centennial, Citra, Simcoe, and the lesser known Azacca.

I don't recall what Ruination 1.0 was like, but this new version is quite fruity on the nose. Tropical I'd say, but I can't tell you any specific fruits. But that quickly dissolves into a sharp citrus and pine bitterness. It’s an enjoyable distraction, but Ruination 2.0 isn't begging for my attention. It’s good, but I've had better.
