Welcome to the newly established Base Camp among the outskirts of Belarus, Commandos. Whether you’re returning from hard-won leave, or have just been shipped out, the war’s most elite unit welcomes your return to the fight. You might be a part of the orderly chaos, or simply observing the cataclysm from the sidelines, but whatever you do, try not to step on the Commander’s heels. Find your tent, and prepare to settle in for the long haul. But before you do, don’t forget to properly attend to your respective duties, and report to Command you’ll no doubt find your Second passing out a beer or two.

Oh, and recruits, stay off the tarmac, our pilots might consider you target practice.

This ‘event’ is more of our starting basis, which will allow new members and their characters to easily establish themselves among current veterans. Apparently sitting in the quad under a tree with a book was not signal enough that Crina wanted to be left alone.  She didn’t mind a little background noise--if she had wanted total quiet, she could have stayed in the library--but that didn’t mean she wanted actual social interaction. 

She raised her eyebrows over the top of her book.

“If you could try to keep all of this--” she pointed to the person, “--over there, that would be lovely.”

Welcome to Bellum University. Are you a professor? A student? A dean? A headmaster? Well this sure isn't Hogwarts, but the kids these days know how to make their own sort of magic. Take a trip back to cramped dorms and boisterous commons, because this au is headed straight for a college campus near you.

This au will be set in present day. If you were not here for the first go around, we encourage you to make a post about your character's occupation, major, living arrangements, etc. Get creative! What is your soldier up to without a gun in their hand? Are they particularly motivated? Or is the partying life more to their tastes? As always: regular verse threads may continue, but we ask that you please refrain from posting anything new that is not related to the event until its end.

This event will last for seven days: starting Monday, September 12th, at 12am CST, and ending on Sunday, September 18th, at 11pm CST. This event is simply a continuation of our first college au that you, our members, enjoyed immensely. It is here to also help ease back into roleplay from hiatuses, and of course for that one pesky reason-- classes have finally resumed. Crina was scrubbing blood off of her knife, residue from a kill but one she wanted gone nonetheless. She couldn’t have it rusting, who knew when she’d find another good one like this. She’d been focused, concentrating for a few minutes, just losing herself in such a mundane task (there weren’t many of those anymore) when someone spoke and she jumped, letting out a curse in Romanian. She looked up at the other person, a bit of a glare in her eyes. “You could have said you were there, no?”

Ever since she’d found her new weapon, Liv couldn’t stop using it. Whether it was for an actual purpose, or just to practice, the feeling of the bow and arrow felt foreign and Olivia loved it. She’d found a secluded spot and made sure that nothing threatening was around, before she positioned herself in front of a tree, and positioned the bow and arrow, taking a deep breath before letting it fly. As always, her aim never wavered, even if it was a weapon she wasn’t that familiar with. A small smirk crossed her face, but it left as soon as it appeared, when she heard a noise. She prepared another bow and spun around, “Show yourself.” Liv ordered, her voice strong.

“The world’s gone to shit and if you think I’m gunna give up the only family I got left out there- you are sorely mistaken,” she said hands bloody from the nasty cut she had just finished dressing. She had hardened since the outbreak but her one-track mind was constantly working: Dante, Dante, Dante. She had to find him and she’d stick with this caravan until she found him even if it meant cross the damn country five times over.

“Now if you’ll excuse me, I got two bodies to burn before they eat you in your sleep then I get the joy of washing up in that half frozen creek. Feel free to sit in your self-pity and whine to whatever God you believe in, maybe if you annoy it as much as you do me something’ll change.”

Your brother may not know you’ve joined the war, but the enemy does. An opposing scout has spotted you. They’re alone and on the run. I hear Specter is a pretty good shot, but don’t get lost in the blizzard on your hunt.
