After being let down over and over again, this was a well-deserved win. The advisor watched them approach excitedly, not-so-patiently waiting for the cat to be set down before holding her hand out to be inspected. “Critter… she’s adorable!” Yanfei tried to keep her voice quiet not to startle the creature before pulling Farrow to sit with her.

“How long have you had her? Oh, and if you ever need a cat sitter, I’m your girl!”

It was nearly impossible to get into trouble in Nod Krai yet here they were, sitting idly as a group of locals debated amongst themselves. Honestly, Yanfei wasn’t even positive on what they had done wrong – one minute they were chatting quietly and the next they were awaiting some sort of punishment? Reprimanding? Whatever may come of this, it seemed even a “lawless” land had its own unwritten rules that could be broken. Had this been a more opportune time, she would have happily brought up the legal guide she was working on but instead, Yanfei tiredly leaned against their shoulder.
