Right, this is the first I’ve seen from Callie Thorpe in defence of slim women. Had more in body ‘positivity’ spoken up earlier, I wouldn’t have left the community. The movement ought to be about eliminating body shaming altogether but most ignore skinny shaming.
Is this a sign that things will change? I’m not holding my breath. But if they do, I might dip my toe into it again. Until then, I’d rather avoid the toxic negativity.
This guy is absolutely right. Tiptoeing around feelings and censoring ourselves regarding health only worsens things for everyone ultimately.
It’s the reason I’m so against people trying to censor publications releasing health and nutritional information about food. Just because they feel bad doesn’t mean society needs to suffer for their sake. If they don’t like the posters, articles or videos, take their cakes, sausages and biscuits and go. Move along. Don’t read.
