OCtober Day 11: Weakest OC
18, mazume? also i am absolutely in love with your writing! you are truly amazing and wonderful *:・゚✧ have a lovely day! *:・゚✧
It hurts. Mamura doesn’t know what he expects; Suzume has neverbeen explosive, but he has indulged in television and comics and novels enoughto expect some fanfare.
Instead, Suzume just whispers, “Maybe I should go home,” andthough she is quiet when she swipes her things off of the counter and the doorcloses behind her with a soft click, Mamura is left with deafening silence.
He wants to call her after one hour, but he doesn’t. Mamura can’tquite place why, because all he wants is for her to come back to his apartmentso he can figure out what has his chest twisted up in knots in the first place. It has always been her forte, poking her sharp fingers in the tangled pieces ofhim and laying them out smooth.
His mouth opens and closes but no words come out (and he wantsto call her after one hour), but he doesn’t.
“I don’t want to lose you,” she cries through the screen doorwith her palms breaking the netting between them. Mamura wants to let her inbut his fingers are cold and he can’t figure out the lock and it’s raining;Suzume has a blanket draped over her head and it smells like flowers and it issoaked all the way through, now.
Her cry is noisy and desperate and it gives Mamura a heartskip,it gives him anxiety because it is filled with some sense of finality, as ifwhat she is saying is the last thing she will ever say.
He opens the screen door at the first crack of thunder, and shestumbles into his arms. “I love you.” It is sincere, but he is scared, and hisconfession slips out. And her eyes ask all the questions, tears quivering andcheeks softened with rainwater, but his kiss gives all the answers.

rumea asked for #7
high school sweethearts
“Is there a reason you two need to get married?” Hakoda asks, leveling a steely gaze at the two teenagers sitting before him, taking in the shiny new ring on Katara’s finger.
Katara opens her mouth to assure her dad that no, there are not any grandchildren on the way, but Zuko speaks first and his emphatic “Yes!” makes her wonder how much of a death wish he has, actually.
“Really?” her father asks, and Katara’s pretty sure they’re doomed until Zuko blurts out, “We do! Because I love her!”
And her father’s eyes crinkle with a smile despite the hesitation that Katara can see lingering there—they are only just out of high school, after all—and her heart melts a little bit more toward the big dork she fell in love with.
Later, after they’ve secured her father’s permission and they’re sitting on the swing on her front porch, watching the stars come out, she asks, “You do know you made my dad think I was pregnant there for a minute, right?”, Zuko’s groan tells her that no, he hadn’t thought that through and her peals of laughter echo off the weathered planks before she kisses him.
Hello! :-) Hope you're having a good day! I know this is super late, but I made some fanart for the Queen Katara prompt and I'd appreciate it immensely if you guys wanted to check it out on my tumblr! :-) (sorry I can't link it directly!) (also it isn't showing up on the tags somehow!)
Hello, dear! I'm having a lovely day, thank you for asking. Thank you for directing our attention to your lovely contribution; it's been reblogged. Sorry for the inconvenience -- and it should be mentioned that late entries are always welcome!
