One underrated riddlebat moment from Joker War is when Edward thinks he's in danger and tries to stealthily give Batman the password to his computer. Bruce tells Lucius that he used to occupy himself during long stakeouts by memorizing “key words” (a list that seems to include the sphinx’s riddle from the myth of Oedipus) in “all the basic encryptions” on the off-chance that Riddler would use them as clues in the future. It’s hilariously Riddler of Edward to risk his safety on the assumption that Batman has memorized an encryption of the word “sphinx” in order to keep up with him, but it’s even funnier that he’s completely correct! It reminds me of Edward’s mini Gone Girl monologue in Run, Riddler, Run.
Sir you are wearing a zentai suit I don’t think you get to say what’s in style
The Riddler is saved by Batman, and the first person he calls to brag about it is -of course- the Joker. Batman: Run, Riddler, Run #2 (1992) - story by Gerard Jones, pencils & colours by Mark Badger joker: comics | tags
I want to get this panel tattooed to my face
Gotta love Riddler. Even when his life is in danger he can’t just tell Batman where he is. Batman has to solve riddles if he wants to save the Riddler.
This is from the series ‘Run, Riddler, Run’.
Way to be an asshole to the guy who’s been helping you clear your name, Bats
