Oooo yes! I definetly agree with you. I think that even if the reader herself didn’t realize the other party was flirting with her, Diane would still be racked with jealously. She wouldn’t care whether you reciprocated the feelings, someone was trying take her little girl away from her.
I definitely think it would lead to Diana cuffing you to your bed so she can make sure no one takes you away.
