Posture: Sluggish. She’s often looking at the ground or at her hands so it shows in the way she stands. 

Build: Slender. Petite. She’s not very big and her frame is really small. She eats well since having been adopted but she’s still built really tiny. 

Skin: Dark. She’s got a sprinkling of freckles on her face that you can only see if you get close to her face! 

Hair: Black hair, and it’s naturally wavy at best but she flattens it out just a bit. It’s very long and she tucks back most of the parts into two buns, while the rest of it hangs over her back. She let it grow out when she was on the streets and now she just likes it too much to cut it. She doesn’t often wear her curls naturally but she’s gotten better about it in recent years. 

Ears: Attached lobes. She doesn’t really wear a lot of jewelry. 

Eyes: Lavender eyes. It’s the one feature that she has that she shared with her brother and she’s rather proud of that fact. Her brother 

Mouth: Pouty lips. They’re often set into a line. She tries to keep her face neutral but when she smiles, it’s big and her teeth show. 

Face shape: Circle. She’s still got quite a childish look to her features and people tend to think she’s a bit younger than what she is. 

Expressions: Arms crossed. Pawing at the ends of her hoodie. Hesitancy. Frowns and downturned eyes. A big smile that is rare when she’s happy. 

Tattoos/Scars?: One scar on her ankle where she had a small accident as a child.

Distinguishing features: Bora would say that people often say her eyes are the feature that they notice first if she’s got her head up. If she doesn’t, they will often say that there’s nothing that stands out about her, and she took that to heart from her parents and she’s still trying to think beyond that trapping. Her smile is what the RFA will tell you is what stands out. 

Who does s/he take after; mother or father?: Neither. She refuses to talk about them and she says that she has nothing in common with them. She’ll tell you that she’s stubborn like Jumin. 

Style (Elegant, shabby, etc): Comfy. Athleisure. 

How does s/he dress or what do they typically wear? Big hoodies. Often two jackets put together, a hoodie, and a sweater over that. Sometimes sweat pants and tennis shoes, or thick boots. That’s her comfort zone. She starts to branch out her style a bit more when she starts living with Jumin, wearing more dresses and getting more comfortable with her sense of style. 

Health: Decent. Ever since having moved in with Jumin, she’s not sick as often and not as tired. But, she’s got a long way to go. She’s got a lazy eye that needs correcting, so she’ll often need to wear a patch with it. She’s got some lasting PTSD from the lack of attention to her health for quite some time, but they’re working on it with doctors and therapists. 

Background: 

Bora was born to a family that didn’t care much about her in the slightest. Her parents loved her brother and didn’t care much for her at all. No matter what she did or said, they didn’t pay her any attention. She felt like she was a shadow to them for a long time and when she started going to school, that was when they started getting harder and harder to deal with. They wanted her to make good grades, prove herself to be just as good as her brother, etc. She had a lot more of a hard time in school, she didn’t learn as fast, she took a lot longer to learn what took her brother a few weeks. 

She was never good enough to them. They never let her forget that fact. She was constantly verbally abused by them. Her only solace was her brother, who loved her and believed in her. He saw the best in her and she saw the best in him. Even though their parents cared about him more, Bora never judged him or blamed him or it. She loved her brother so much. They were inseparable. He was a lot older than Bora, too. 

There was a good six year age gap between the two of them. However, her brother was always looking after her, making sure she ate, and that she was rewarded when she studied hard. Their parents just... weren’t good people to Bora. Not going into extreme detail. 

It grew to the point when her brother couldn’t take it anymore, and he decided enough was enough. He started to compile evidence against their parents so he could leave and “adopt” Bora. 

She deserved to grow up without them hurting her like that. 

Unfortunately, there was an accident and her brother died as a result of it. Bora was so distraught about it, and her parents got a lot worse. They started to really blame her for everything and she decided that she couldn’t take it. She packed up a big bag, taking only what she knew her parents wouldn’t tell the police she  “stole”, and the photograph her brother gave her of the two of them since she couldn’t take any more of his things. 

Armed with only a two big coats and some jeans, she became a runaway for a few months, surviving on the kindness of others. Until she got a message from a stranger one day on a phone she found left abandoned in the park. She decided to help the stranger, and wound up in the apartment with the RFA. They were alarmed she was a kid, and alone. 

It took some coaxing, but Seven came to see her at the apartment to talk things over with her because they couldn’t leave a kid there. She admits that she ran away from home because... it wasn’t okay. He doesn’t ask more about it to her face, but promises he won’t send her back there. Since it’s the holidays, they arrange for her to stay with Jumin since he’s the safest for the time being. They also need to find out who tricked her. 

Jumin discovers real fast that she’s been hurt a lot. He can’t bring himself to send her away to another family after the holidays. She’s just brought a lot of life to his house and to Elizabeth. He spends a lot of time learning how to become a good dad to her, because this tiny girl is plagued by night terrors and just needs someone. He realizes he’s that somehow, even if he has to learn how to be a good dad.

As the story continues, her life with the RFA becomes a Found Family AU. It plays out with each route in the game with some differences after she’s adopted by Jumin, going from Jumin > Jaehee > Zen > Yoosung > Seven. I’ll have to find the bigger post where I wrote out her timeline to add to this post. In the end, all things are fixed, Bora and the RFA are a family, and Vanderwood winds up joining later as her bodyguard.

So I had this idea, so I know bora is supposed to have really long hair the whole route, but as a runaway that would be hard and annoying to Maintain, and I picture that bora has really pretty hair and when her brother passed and she ran away, she cut her hair short(like a bob or something easy) so people wouldn’t catch on. And it’s an awful cut job. So when bora arrives to the penthouse and slowly starts to relax and her and jumin bond, she decides to grow out her hair. Jumin even takes her to a salon/ a stylist comes to the penthouse to fix up bora’s hair so she can grow it out nice and evenly. And zen is the one who taught her how to do space buns. Bora feels safe enough to grow her hair king, cause she doesn’t feel the need to be prepared in case she has to go back on the streets

Oh, that's a really cute sentiment. She was actually spending a lot of time with people that she knew that she could trust. For a little bit of time she stayed with an acquaintance from school. When the kindness of those parents ran out, she stayed off and on with an elderly couple that took pity on her. When she wasn't doing that she was on the street which was definitely not okay. That's how she was able to manage her hair, but I do appreciate this headcanon because that's actually such a popular thing to do when you're transitioning through a grieving period in many cultures.

It's kind of cute to imagine all of the things that she would be able to do with the others as she started working on her hair again.

What are jumin’s first thoughts when he meets bora? Does he feel obligated to help her cause she is a child or does he want to help her? What are his thoughts when he first meets her and when he gets to know her?

Link. When he first meets her, everyone has come to the conclusion that they're going to let her stay with him for the time being until they can settle everything with the hacker. They can't exactly send her on her way because it's the holiday season and it's hard to get in touch with the right services and the right people. Besides, they need to get a better understanding of how she was manipulated and tricked to go to the apartment in the first place so they have to look through the phone that she picks up. Because, she isn't texted on her phone, she didn't even have a phone. She picks up one that was left behind by Unknown. Unfortunately, it really doesn't have any information that helps him or any of the other RFA members.

She's very polite, and she's very quiet. You almost wouldn't even know that she was in the penthouse. She tries not to take up any space and she overwhelmingly tries to do everything for herself constantly. He definitely doesn't know how to work around this it first so it's a little strained and awkward at times. Elizabeth helps, having a cat around kind of helps her loosen up a little and stops her from having nervous jitters. Petting Elizabeth is good for her anxiety. She is this really tiny and frail kid who won't stop using manners with him consistently. So he does think that she's a very good kid. He was just never like her himself, so he has to reach out to Seven and Zen a lot.

She's clearly nervous, frightened, and she lies a lot about her past. He starts to get a better understanding of that the more that he's around her in the more that he sees that she flinches whenever someone gets too close or that she'll obsessively compulsively clean things because she feels like if she doesn't she'll get kicked out. It actually kind of burns him on the inside to think that someone would mistreat someone like that. She's just a kid.

She starts to trust him more and more because he tries to listen to her when she talks. Show how a lot of night terrors in a lot of nightmares and while she won't want to talked about it, Jumin will stay there until she can sleep again. He is doing the best he can. The man is binge reading constantly to try and help her and honestly, it just gets to the point where he realizes that she's made a spot in his life.

Because, the more that she opens up to him and the more that she trusts him, the more that he is able to realize that he can help her and that she has become apart of his family. He never set out to be her dad, but it just kind of turned out that way.

Bora after getting her wisdom teeth out, Lila and saeran come over to check up on her.

Jumin: she is still quite out of it, the drugs are still in her system.

Lila: we just want to check that she is doing well.

Jumin smilimg: of course.

They walk in to see Vanderwood sitting on a chair next to bora, who is in a blanket burrito.

Saeran and Lila sit on her bed.

Lila: hey duckling, who are you feeling?

Bora who is staring at searan and wiggles an arm out of the blanket burrito. She grabs saerans hand.

Saeran: bora, what are you doing?

Bora trying to bite saeran: marshmallow.

Vanderwood pulling bora back: sorry she is high.

Bora, still staring at saeran: marshmallow?

You know, that’s only hilarious because he’s the least likely one to be misread as a marshmallow. It’s kind of sweet, at least, in the sense that Bora isn’t scared of him anymore like she when she wasn’t in the loop on the secrets and what went down with everyone in the past. Lila tries to hold back her laughter on the matter but it’s just so funny. Saeran is exasperated. “No wonder she listened to the phish.”

Please! Please go on about rare pair Juciel!!! Please! I’m dying for some of your ideas on their interactions! Especially with bora! Please

I’ve talked about how I see the Juciel dynamic before! And, I did write a fic for my friend about the pairing. I just think there’s a lot more going on than Seven just tormenting Jumin over this and that. He’s the kind of person that would be the one to pull your hair on the playground just for the sake of pinching you to show off his crush. He means well, but that’s the only way that he knows how to get it across. We see him do it to Zen and Yoosung all the time and that tends to be why most people ship those guys together. 

To quote me:

Now, think about what he does with Jumin. Sure, he sneaks in under the joke of trying to play with Elizabeth the 3rd, but while he loves cats, this isn’t just about his darling Elly. This is about reminding Jumin to take care of his security system and keep an eye out. He sincerely worries about his friend and his privacy, you know? Jumin and Zen are always out there in the public and they’ve got all kinds of eyes on them, and people judging them, even if they don’t care what others think, that doesn’t mean that it’s okay for people to say cruel things or means things about them.

Saeyoung Choi is always hiding his actions behind a mask of jokes and games, and when it comes to even someone like Jumin, he doesn’t mind people thinking he’s an idiot as long as he knows that his friends are safe. Make no mistake that our bisexual disaster Saeyoung has shown that he has crushes on the other members of the group to some extent fairly often, blink and you’ll miss it type of things. 

But, he cares a lot. He cares so much about everyone that it hurts him to an extent.

Seven’s just got a funny way of showing his care with other people, especially with the RFA. I just enjoy that cat and mouse, and we all know that Jumin does respect Seven even if he’s a deviant. He goes as far as to ensure that he and his brother are safe in the SE because he knows that Saeyoung has suffered and that V would want him to help the boys. And, in V’s AE, we know that he protects Saeyoung and offers him safety in his company from the agency and others after what happened. 

It’s nothing to scoff at, for sure. 

That being said, I think it would be interesting on Bora’s Route because Seven does work with Jumin quite a lot during this timeline. There’s a lot of measures to ensure her safety. Considering her events go through both the Deep/Common routes and there’s a lot to deal with. There would be a lot of tension at the mid-way point given the whole fucking bomb in the apartment. Jumin isn’t happy with Seven, nor Rika, given that he doesn’t know why there would need to be a bomb and Seven won’t fess up about it. 

They all just blindly trusted Rika, you know? 

Someone pointed out that after the party when Seven is forced to confront Unknown again and manages to fight him off to protect Bora, he doesn’t get to catch his brother, and he winds up running off and getting caught by Vanderwood not long after and that brings about the events of the SE because Seven has been shirking work to investigate Mint Eye. That Jumin would likely thank him for what he did, and for doubting him in that he cared about Bora... but you know, guilt. 

But, if we disregard some of the build-ups and talk about the hijinks that would come from a Juciel pairing in Bora’s timeline! Well, that means that Bora gets two dads. We all know that she’s got a different friendship with each other RFA members but Seven is the one that she trusts the most, he was the first one that she met and she thinks highly of him. She likes when he tries to cheer her up and make her laugh. She just wishes he would be kinder to himself. 

Bora would be the one to scold Seven and determinedly show him how to be kind to Elizabeth and let her decide when she wants to bother someone. She settles the feline in his lap and warns him to behave. She’s a lot more forward since she’s had the time to live with Jumin, haha. Seven’s flaw is that he loves cats so much that he overthinks what he’s doing when he sees one and forgets how to behave. 

“Y’know, Dad wouldn’t try to send you down with the window washers if you just behave around Elizabeth.” 

“It’s not as fun to get his attention that way!” 

“...Do you have a crush on Dad, Seven?” 

“Pft! Lolololol, that’s such a scandalous thing to ask, Bora.”

“Oh, then the answer is yes. You blink when you lie.” 

Seven is one of the people that Jumin confides in quite a bit about Bora, he knows that Zen and he has a better idea of how to deal with... some of her worst nightmare and night terrors so he finds himself calling them often. It’s part of the reason why his relationships with those two are quite better than they once were in the past. 

So, you can imagine that he and Seven can get carried away and start talking about this and that, not just Bora. Jumin is sharp, I know he can see through that mask of Seven’s. I like to think it gets easier for the two of them to drop the old pretense and just talk. 

Seven would constantly be doting on Bora. He’s that guy that would spoil a kid without hesitation, and God, Jumin can be bad about this as well, but Seven is somehow worse because he knows that Bora is a good kid that won’t abuse the kindness of others. She tries to wear things until the threads break down and it is a poor sight because he once did the same. 

Jumin has an exasperated sigh whenever he sees that Seven’s dropped off some more things for Bora, both that he bought and made because he’s really too much sometimes. He doesn’t say anything though, because the redhead beat him to the punch. Are these two dads determinedly trying to outdo each other while we laugh? Yes. 

Oh, and you know what, Seven is the guy that sends Jumin cat memes and now there’s no hope of him not sending them into the family text. It’s sweet, but he has released a plague upon our houses. Oh, and he’s guilty of suggesting that Bora and Elizabeth get matching bows, it’s really cute, though!
