He was an idiot, he wasn’t suppose to talk to anyone at school, everyone thought he was weird. “For a girl.” he added with a frown, turning his head away so that his frown was directed towards the lunch ladies at the front of the school hall.

Mystique was walking up to the house with a girl. The girl was looking around everywhere trying to get a feel for the area. Mystique walked inside calling out for everyone to get in the room.

Lance had been sprawled across his bed, guitar in hand when he heard Mystique. They’d been warned of a new recruit arriving, and to play nicer with the new mutant than they had with Rogue (though from what he gathered they hadn’t been the reason she’d up and left). So with a roll of his eyes he set down the instrument to get on his feet, making his way downstairs. 

The first thing Lance noticed was that he was the last one into the room, leaning his broad frame against the doorway as Mystique began to introduce the girl, dark eyes flickering over their newest teammate, a glimmer of interest in his eyes.
