Lol. Started out the week with good intentions, but those good intentions turned out to be pavers down the road to where my week ended up.
I present to you one single mile walked on my treadmill desk while doing some work stuff.

I know time has no more meaning these days, but I honestly thought my last runs were much longer ago than this, so I was really surprised to see that I ran at all last week.
The weather turned a bit and I either didn’t want to get outside for a run, and I guess I was a bit let down that the pups were so anti-running.
I am CRUSHING it.
(Also don’t tell anyone, but this one lonely mile was actually just a walk on my “treadmill desk”)
Another week off running...
... so again I didn’t even click on my smashrun non-running report.
Increased sets & weight for lifting, but not as dramatic as last week. I’m settling into 5x5 for my “main” lifts and sticking with 3x8 for the rest. Why? Unsure. Maybe to try to hit heavier weights on the main ones.
But I can’t use that as an excuse for not running this week because I even “skipped” lifting Wednesday and Thursday.
Wednesday after the kids went down we had to wrap birthday presents for my daughter.
Thursday I was just plain tuckered.
Friday I was considering squeezing something in during the day, but I had to go get cupcakes, get a brain dump from a coworker who’s leaving, conduct a virtual interview, and get family photos all before our virtual team happy hour.
Saturday was occupied by birthday festivities, so on Sunday I did Wednesday’s and Thursday’s lifting workouts.
I’m so sore today, lol.
Deleted without even opening my SmashRun non-running report because I don’t need a reminder I took more time off from running thankyouverymuch.
But I did spend some time on Sunday learning a little more about spreadsheets in Google Docs to be able to extract sets + reps + weight out of a cell to be able to calculate the total volume in pounds lifted over the week to be able to know that in moving from 2 sets to 3 sets of everything (plus increasing a few of the weights a bit) I was able to increase my total pounds lifted 68% from 19,440lbs to 32,040lbs.
Brought some running shoes to the office today to try out a mile on the treadmill.
BTW in case you’re wondering I’ve not run for just shy of 3 months in an effort to let my mystery foot pain abate, since continuing to run prior to my 50k did NOT do anything for it. Turns out not running ALSO did not do anything for it.
I’m guessing this is just the new normal and I need to deal with it.
i need someone to understand.
Woah, unintentional negative splits on my run yesterday?
(a) I thought 6km would feel harder than it did.
(b) I haven't been giving any thought to my pace; just trying to get out there and do the distance consistently. But week over week I'm seeing it improve and it's really nice to see how it played out here!
(c) I absolutely took the time afterwards to stretch properly and do my physio exercises, and I feel great today! I won't make the mistake of back to back running days again, but I'm happy to know I'll be ready for one tomorrow!
(also I know the intervals look a bit wonky - my garmin uses the most bizarre mix of miles and km and I haven't been bothered enough to try and tweak the settings)
