It wasn’t that she’s wanted to run away. It was just that it was easier to not go back. To not have to explain why she hadn’t come back immediately. Explain how she’d gotten away. When she found the shore, knew the stories, was taken in my Luna and her people... It just seemed like it had been too long to go back. She’d made a home there. Found a people. So when she heard her people, her blood, were coming for trade deals, she hid. She found ways to be out of sight the entire first day they were there. She’d explained the situation to Luna, who’d graciously agreed to help her in this, not bringing her up, being the main source of diversion. For the most part she managed to keep her head down, managed to avoid everyone she was trying to avoid. Until it was time for Luna to play good host and feed the visiting members of Skaikru. Monroe’d gone early, helped the cook how she could, eaten and gone to leave, but that had put her directly in the path of Skaikru, who were ten minutes ahead of schedule.
And of course he was there. And or course he saw her. Monroe’s lips parted, heart in her throat, his name on her tongue. Before she could speak she snapped her jaw shut, eyes dropping. She turned on her heel, knowing there was a back exit she could sneak out, if he didn’t catch up with her first.
