If for some reason I missed your blog (maybe you didn't have much a description/the latest photos you've posted aren't fitblr related but actually 90% of your posts are fitblr related, or maybe I just missed it in the endless mass of checking like 600 blogs haha), then let me know! And I will follow you back! xoxoxoxo,

i have been working on my fitness a lot recently and i got to the point where i could comfortably run 5k but then i went away for 2weeks and since I've been back i can only do 3k help? x
Hello dear! It sounds to me like your “going away for two weeks" (yay fun, vacation!) also meant “not running, working out, or doing anything fitness related for two week [or at least, not doing anything leg muscle related for two weeks]". Therein lies your problem, especially if you have just started running. Your body can’t comfortably run 5k straight without stopping because it is telling you it is no longer ready and okay with doing so. This is because you stopped practicing: aka, your muscles are out of practice. They are no longer used to getting to the 5k point and not feeling sore (aka, “comfortable"). Long story short: You stopped practicing, so your body and legs stopped performing. This is similar too if a pianist stops practicing for a certain “x" period of time, they will no longer be able to play the memorized song the same way as when they practiced it on a regular basis (or even, if they can play all of it). It is similar to being able to like 200 lbs one day (as a result of endless and regular training over time) and then taking a few weeks off (similar to you) and not being able to lift the same amount. Losing the practice is losing the progress. In your case and in the weightlifting case, it can be a form of muscle atrophy. Muscle atrophy is muscle loss (And, the most extreme form is also a disease). All people who workout and stop experience some level of muscle atrophy after a period of time. In fact, even those who train the most and have the most experience over time (Olympic athletes, competitive athletes) experience muscle atrophy after one or two weeks. Here’s an article discussing it:http://www.livestrong.com/article/435701-how-long-can-you-go-without-exercise-before-your-body-starts-to-lose-muscle/BUT ANYWAY: all the above basically boils down to this: don’t freak out about not being able to run 5k after having taken two weeks off. It’s VERY normal. Your body just has to get used to getting back to where it was two weeks ago. Just keep training. You will reach 5k faster than you did the last time you trained to get there, because you mentally and physically already know what to do. You just have to build the same muscle and stamina up again. :)
