Back in elementary school, I ran for fun. In my working years, I ran to relieve some stress. When I moved to Harlem, I ran to help build community. After I left my nine to five job, I ran because I wanted to help everyday people start running and runners run injury free. With a second wave of the virus looming over us, it’s important to protect those who are still on the frontline protecting us - our #healthcareheroes. Fortunately, there are great humans like @ppe.relief who are doing just that. They were trying to raise $30K (they were then at $27K), so they can equip 400+ of our local heroes with quality PPE Supply Kits. I knew I needed to do my part. So for the past seven weeks, I’ve been running a 30K every week to help PRI get to their $30K goal. I’ve also asked all of you to join me by signing up for your own September virtual run hosted by @runformyhero or just simply donate (link in bio!). It’s not too late, you can still do it! Yesterday, I completed my seventh and final 30K and I’m happy to share that we surpassed our goal! Together, we raised $33K. I want to thank everyone who donated and shared this fundraiser, the Co-Founders of @ppe.relief , @garyreloj and @itsdrkwan_j for allowing me to fundraise, Gary and Bonnie for your guidance In fundraising and building out an amazing page on my website, and escorting through four boroughs and keeping me hydrated on my final run, the @runformyhero and @prehab_run team for hosting the virtual run, offering your services, spreading the word, and throwing an awesome party for us at the finish line, and @javie.gomez , @dr.stanbazile , @winnyzhu , @adamlaino , @ggruns and everyone else who came out to pound the pavement with me. Thank you. We did it.
