I just started a free Spotify account a couple of months ago, and I'm learning my way around. It's absolutely a cut above Pandora because it lets you search for specific songs and artists and has a much larger library. I work at a music college, and I'd love to be able to give every incoming student a premium account instead of spottily maintaining a nearly-obsolete CD collection.
My real hobby--since librarianship is, at heart, my job, not a hobby--is running. There's a great community and tracking site called RunningAhead, coded by one hero of a guy and populated by plenty of running crazies. A member just used the API to code an iOS-compatible app, called RunForth. I recommend both the app and the site.
