Running Uphill Facts

Some silly headcanons for the Running Uphill verse that I was able to work organically into the fic. This list is non-spoilers for the epilogue (but is for the fic itself), and were too much fun not to share. Just a little something to tide you guys til the epilogue!

Elijah agreed to come back as CEO to “fix the company” only on the grounds that he had full ownership and executive control.

As soon as he got his way he promptly handed over CyberLife to New Jericho. He allowed himself to be a human placeholder until it was 100% legal for androids to own property.

Nadine and Simon ultimately run CyberLife.

Valerie and Cain run the security team.

Nines often plays bodyguard for Markus and other leaders of New Jericho during diplomatic meetings.

Nines is still terrified of Val, which amuses Cain to no end. (Nines believes Cain has no self preservation)

Connor made it his mission to get Briggs to love him. Many food bribes were involved. Gavin worried that his cat was gonna get fat.

Connor adopts a cat after he and Gavin move in together. Smoosh is a boneless cuddle bug and purr monster. Briggs tolerates him at first. But after Smoosh learned how to get into the cabinets he became Bringer of Food and therefore worthy of affection.

Hank adopts Connor, Cain, and Nines. (And Gavin by proxy).

Nines, Tina and Gavin are a horrible combo for a night out. But they keep doing it because it’s always an interesting adventure.

The adventures get even more interesting when alcoholic thirium hits the market.

Connor shows no sympathy when the three of them are nursing hangovers the next morning.

Elijah and the girls visit often. Elijah and Gavin still occasionally play Smash.

Occasionally turns into Frequently when the entire Anderson family learns to play. Hank is usually who ends up winning. “What can I say? I’m old school.”

Game Night becomes a Thing and is usually hosted at the Kamski residence as it’s the only location with enough space.

Running Uphill UPDATE

And a Life Update in General 💙

For those who don’t know, chapter 17 was posted on Valentine’s Day, as well as an actual final chapter count for the fic as a whole. Running Uphill will finish with a total of 19 chapters including the epilogue.

The next chapter is moving right along and I have plans to post it sometime this upcoming weekend. Probably on Sunday. Might as well start March right!

One thing is for sure. While writing chapter 18 Gavin has wholeheartedly reminded me of how much trauma I have put him through. Here’s a pretty accurate representation of Gavin spilling his guts to Connor.

Don’t worry guys. We’re finally getting some fluff up in this fic!

And just a heads up- THE EPILOGUE WILL BE POSTED DURING DBH RARE PAIR WEEK!!!! Particularly because both prompts for a particular day apply to it.

I’m not saying which day though. That would ruin the fun!

As for Life Stuff

At least one of my readers was concerned about my radio silence, so I wanted to reassure everyone that I’m doing okay. This period of my life has been hectic due to changes in my work environment (not bad but BUSY) and the fact that my horse injured herself pretty badly in mid December. She’ll be okay, but it’s gonna be another long road to recovery for the Caeli Monster. Plus she is on meds twice a day for the foreseeable future, which means I’m absolutely exhausted by the time I’m done with my daily commute. I wish home, work and the barn were all closer to one another.

If I’m quiet for too long feel free to hit me up over here. Say hi, ask questions about my stories or headcanons or anything really. Odds are I’m bone tired, and it the notification alone would make my day!

Running Uphill update

I’ve been chipping away at chapter 17. I feel so bad that I’ve left you guys hanging so long, but 2020 came out the gate swinging and not in good way.

My fuzzy beast decided to go for yet ANOTHER leg injury and and I was in a dark mental pit for a hot minute. Now that she has been seen and treated and we have a recovery game plan being put into motion I finally feel like I have the mental energy of give it the attention it deserves.

I’ve dished out all the hurt in this fic, now who’s ready for some much needed COMFORT?!
